NJROTC

Grenada’s Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps — or NJROTC — is a program designed to instill in students the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. Students in NJROTC will learn skills and develop traits which will help them in life during and after school, whether it be in the military or civilian life. NJROTC is a military class which emulates certain activities performed by the United States Navy.

Students in grades 8-12 are eligible to participate in Grenada’s NJROTC program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Navy. Though certain physical requirements must be met to join, the program is not just about physical training. Think of it more like a combination of many different classes and specialties — from science and technology to history and politics to valuable life skills and community service. We travel together, compete as a team, and demonstrate our unit’s pride at home and throughout the country.

We meet during school hours and after school for various activities at the Grenada Armory, located at the corner of Jackson and E. Monroe on the northeast corner of the Grenada High School campus. Contact the unit Naval Science Instructor ITC (SW/SCW), Newtroin Foreman to request a tour of the program, and let us show you all that we have to offer.
